Ever since Joico came out with their defy damage series, I have been completely obsessed! This is my favorite product to use on my clients, I use it on every female client whether they have virgin hair or damaged hair. If you are familiar with Luster Lock and you love it, then you'll definitely love defy damage. The shampoo alone feels like the Luster Lock mask.

For my professionals out there, the Pro Series 1 is essential! Apply Pro Series 1 in short bursts down the hair shaft, holding the can about 6 inches away. Pro Series 1 acts kind of like a prepping primer for the hair and I have personally found that it lifts the hair faster and more evenly, than if I did not apply the spray. You can also apply the spray on a non color client and then shampoo and apply Pro Series 2 for 5 minutes then wash out.

Pro Series 2 is a bond strengthening treatment specifically designed to repair damage damage and strengthen the hair shaft to prevent breakage. After I shampoo my client with Defy Damage Protective Shampoo, I apply the Pro Series 2 (just one pump is plenty) onto the hair and massage into the hair and let sit for 5 minutes. After washing out Pro Series 2, I apply the Defy Damage Protective Conditioner. I like to do this last rinse as a cool rinse to really seal in all of the ingredients. For my non professional readers, a cool rinse is used to seal in the product into the hair shaft. Just like your pores, your hair strands open up when exposed to heat, and they also will close when exposed to cool/cold water. So, a hot shampoo and conditioner gets all the goody ingredients into your hair and a cool rinse closes up those hair shafts to trap them in.

The ingredients in the Defy Damage Pro Series are simple but very powerful and essential to the health of your hair. Keratin and argenine are used to penetrate the hair cortex to repair damage and to strengthen the hair. Rosehip oil adds softness to the hair and shine to the cuticle layer without weighing down the hair. Defy Damage also contains Smart Release Liposomes which are deposited into the hair. Over time, each liposome bursts and release the keratin, arginine and rosehip oil for up to THREE washes! For best results, use the shampoo, conditioner and the protective shield.
